About American
Children's Home
We have a rich history
American Children's Home was established in 1925 by the Junior Order United American Mechanics National Council. It initially served orphaned children of Junior Order members. However, as time passed there were fewer true orphans and the home began accepting children through county
Departments of Social Services.
We provide a nurturing environment
American Children's Home is a licensed and COA accredited, non-profit providing residential cottages and family foster homes from birth to age 21. With a capacity of 50, our six cottages are home to these
children from a few days to a few years.
We are looking for foster families
Our foster care program is looking for patient,
caring and committed adults who are willing to open their hearts and their homes to these children. ACH licenses families living within a 50 mile radius of our campus.
We offer on-site child care
Another program offered by ACH is Evans Child Development Center (ECDC.) ECDC provides quality, affordable care for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years old. Various programs of ECDC are designed to foster physical, social, cognitive and emotional growth.
