As an essential service, we remain operational. Our facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year.
American Children's Home is constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is following guidance from the CDC, DHHS, and the Davidson County Health Department and Emergency Management Services.
The health and wellbeing of our children and our staff are foremost on our minds. The needs of the children in our care don't stop during an executive order or stay home order. With the threat of COVID-19, there is an increased need for cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment. With the children out of school, there is an increased need for supplies of all types including school supplies and technology. To support their mental health, there is an increased need for games, both board and video; recreational games/supplies; arts and craft supplies.
Our dedicated staff are taking on roles outside of their usual duties: social workers as teachers, development staff as art teachers and activity directors, and admin staff as cleaning crew, shoppers, and support staff. At some point, they may all be tasked with caring for the sick.
Your support is more critical now than ever.

We are keeping in mind the safety of our kids while also finding fun ways to keep them entertained and engaged during this school closure. Our art classes have continued and increased, we're promoting physical activity and facilitating outdoor games, and creating mindful spaces
with yoga and meditation to also keep mental health in everyone's mind.
We have turned our gym into a school for each of our children to continue
with their classes. Especially our seniors who are anxiously awaiting
graduation! Your continued support for the children living on our campus
is felt and appreciated! Every item purchased, dollar donated, and kind
words allow us to continue caring for these amazing kids.
We are doing everything we can to support all of our foster families during this time.
Monthly and quarterly visits will still be available, they will be held over videoconferencing. Please contact your case manager if you have any questions about an upcoming video-visit.
A weekly Foster Parent support group will be starting over Zoom! Every Tuesday at 7pm join us for a support group and training session! These sessions will be 30 minutes in length and will share current and relevant details for all foster parents.
