The North Carolina Building

On Saturday November 1, 2003, we opened the time capsule in the cornerstone of the original North Carolina Building. The N. C. Building was erected in 1929 and has been "home" to a large number of children over the years. When the North Carolina State Council of the Junior Order United American Mechanics erected the building they had the foresight to place a time capsule in the cornerstone. The building has become unsafe to house children and will be demolished later this month. The pictures that follow were taken beginning on November 1st and later.
