American Children's
Home, a non-profit organization, has been serving boys and girls
since 1928. The Home began as an orphanage for children of members of the
Junior Order United American Mechanics, our country’s oldest patriotic
fraternity.
As the years passed, the number
of true orphans dwindled and the Home began accepting children who have
been removed from their natural homes because of neglect or abuse;
emotional, mental and physical. Because membership in the Junior Order
also dwindled over the years, the Home had to look to the community for
support. The majority of our funding comes from private individuals,
businesses, churches, civic groups and foundations. We need support
from all of these sources to enable us to continue providing quality care
to children in need.
If you are interested in making a
contribution to American Children’s Home, you can send your check or money
order to us at P. O. Box 1288, Lexington, NC 27293-1288. Any amount is
appreciated and you will know that you are helping a child who has no one else to
whom to turn. Remember, your donations are tax
deductible. "Thank you" for your support and your prayers.
