On Saturday November 15, 2003 several local Fire Departments were allowed to use the old North Carolina Building for an extensive training exercise. After an all-day exercise the building was set afire and allowed to burn. On Monday November 17, the actual demolition began. The final load of debris from the building was hauled off on December 9, 2003. The pictures that follow chronicle both events.
