Evans Child Development Center (A Four Star
Facility) has been proudly serving the families in
the Davidson Country area since 1981. ECDC provides quality affordable child care to
children ranging in ages from 6 weeks to 12 years old.
Various programs and curriculum are designed
to foster the physical, social, emotional and cognitive growth of every child. Such
areas of development include: fine and gross motor skills, language, intellect, self-help
skills, creativity and social skills. Each of these areas are encouraged at the
child's individual level and pace.
Our facilities offer a warm, safe,
stimulating atmosphere. Children have opportunities to enjoy a gymnasium, swimming
pool and recreation hall for experiences outside of the classroom itself.
Parent involvement is a welcome and respected
element in planning and decision making at ECDC. Parents are encouraged to
participate in their child's growth and development in many ways: Volunteers,
parent-advisory board, substitute teaching, etc. Every parent is invited to give
time and input as his/her schedule allows.
Infants, toddlers... our infants / toddler program offers frequent
interaction between the caregiver and each child. They are provided with the time
and space for sleeping, eating, toileting, diaper changing, and playing according to each
child's individual needs. The infants have their positions and locations changed
throughout the day and have frequent opportunities each day outside the crib or playpen in
addition to the time attending to their physical care.
Toddlers are engaged in many different
activities daily, with special attention being given to socialization and self-help
skills.
Age appropriate toys are provided for our
infants and toddlers and the opportunity to go outdoors is offered when weather permits.
Preschool program - 2's 3's and 4's...
ACTIVITIES - Quality materials and equipment
are offered in quantity to provide a variety of play experiences which stimulate the
children's social, emotional, intellectual and physical development.
ACTIVITY AREAS - An identifiable space where
equipment and materials are kept in an orderly fashion which is accessible to the
children. At least five activity areas are available to the children daily.

While using these activity areas we develop
language, math, music, science, large and small muscle skills.
Before and After School Programs...
BEFORE - this program provides early morning
care for school age children which allows them to be in a caring supervised environment
while waiting for transportation to area local schools.
AFTER - after school care provides the
children with a nutritious snack and teacher directed activities with a balance of free
time and free choice. This program eliminates the "Latch Key" child.
Summer Camp... swimming, field day, field trips, and talent shows encourage
creativity and physical fitness during the summer months here at Evans. Our staff
stimulates each child with a variety of physically stimulating and quiet-time activities
throughout the summer months.
